Spring Happenings

March 24, 2009

fStar Mag-1

We seem to be getting really lucky this year, with some of the nicest days falling over the weekend. Are you looking for things to do? Here are a few; click on the link to learn more:

Historic Garden Week In Virginia: April 18-25

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has a full calendar of events, including “A Million Blooms,” from April through June

Brookemeade Sod’s Spring Green Lawn Clinic on April 4th

Spring Garden Fest 2009 on April 25

19th Annual Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival, April 18th & 19th

Don’t forget about the many historical sites around Virginia that offer great outdoor activities. James Madison’s Montpelier is located on a gorgeous estate complete with a formal garden and 200 acres of woods. And, of course there’s Mount Vernon in northen Virginia, and Monticello near Charlottesville.

Farmers’ Market season is almost back as well. We’re fortunate to have a pretty darn good market here in Culpeper, and we’ll often try to hit the one in Charlottesville as well. Whether you’re looking for a market near you or a CSA, www.localharvest.org is a comprehensive resource for local food. If you’re not planning to grow your own, Local Harvest can help you find the next best thing.

And if you want to be in the garden, but you’re lacking motivation? Contact me to set up a garden coaching appointment, and I’ll get you motivated!
